  1. Thanks Chef! If you're like me and hate onion texture I graded mine and it basically dissolved in the pot. I did the same for the mushrooms even though I don't hate their texture. Anyways, solid recipe 8/10!

  2. I put a 4.5 pound pot roast in a slow cooker at medium heat for 3 hours and 45 minutes. Salt and pepper lightly along with 2 garlic cloves. I add potatoes, onions and mushrooms with 20 -30 minutes to go along with a gravy packet. Always perfect.

  3. I'm a fairly experienced cook. I worked as a butcher for years so had to learn how, so I could tell other folks how to to cook their meat. I made a variant of this the other night cause that's cooking right? .. You add a dash of this and a dash of that 🙂 It came out very nice. I am not a mushroom fan, but the wife loves them and I will admit they added a nice depth to the gravy and veggies.

This might be my go to Pot roast for years to come.. TY Chef John.

  4. I made this for Sunday dinner, today. It turned out awesome. After I pulled the meat, I put some quartered small potatoes in the slow cooker. It got lots of compliments.
So far, every Chef John recipe I try, is pure deliciousness!
